Epcot Flower and Garden Prep Report

Well folks it has been a good four months since our last update and I am happy to announce we are back with weekly updates starting today.

This weeks reports comes from Epcot where preparation for the 2011 Flower and Garden Festival are well on there way. The photos above and below this are all at the entry way of the park where the topiaries are being placed with each night that passes.

If you have not heard the Tinkerbell section of the new Fantasyland has been cancelled and with this Disney announced that the fairies will be available at Epcot. This has been installed and had quite a wait in the hot Florida sun today.

So there will be a few changes this year to the arrangement of the festival. The butterfly house has been doubled in size and moved to the opposite side of Future World to make way for the new expanded Tinkerbell area. As you can see below the butterfly house is on its way up.

The new Tinkerbell section prep is just getting started as you can see in the photos below.

Last year the area below hosted the bayou of the Princess and the Frog. These wildflowers have all been planted recently so maybe this area will be a part of the Pixie Hollow section. Who knows..

Wildflowers also have been planted on both sides of the main walkway between the World Showcase and Future World.

One of my favorite displays at the festival are the patchwork flowers around the lake. The right side has been installed for over a week now and has started filling in nicely.

The pictures below are from the left side and you can tell these flowers have not quite filled in yet.

Heading into the World Showcase the festival merchant tents are already being installed.

The flowers in Canada are always nice especially in the spring.

Below is a photo of the current United Kingdom tea garden

In France the Beauty and the Beast topiaries have been installed

Another merchandise tent headed towards Japan

These can be found on the right side of the American Adventure

Of course in Italy you will find Lady and the Tramp

This area near Germany usually has vendors that sell bonsai trees

More wildflowers in the Norway pavilion

The strange looking playground on the rose path is being installed

Were painting the roses red....

I have one more view of the patchwork on the way out. Look back to us next week when we will have a photo update from the Magic Kingdom and perhaps more. Have a magical week!!
